Gluten Free in Bangkok: Grilled Seafood

Date
Nov, 30, 2018

This restaurant probably has a much more inspirational name in Thai, but on Google Maps it is simply called “Grilled Seafood”. When you are craving for a local restaurant with gluten free options, check out this place. This is one of those places where you will hardly see any foreigners, one of those places with few reviews on social media simply because it is not widely known about. If you are looking for great service and superb seafood, this is it!

Details of Establishment:

Name: Grilled Seafood
Type
:  Restaurant
Location: 1351/5 ถนน เจริญนคร แขวงบางลำภูล่าง Khwaeng Bang Lamphu Lang, Khet Khlong San, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10600, Bangkok, Thailand
Tips:  The servings are big, so expect to walk out very content!

Gluten free or not gluten free observations:

Item(s) ordered: 1.5 kg of prawn | Grilled fish| Steamed rice
GF observation: No allergen markings, but all the dishes have photos of them so you can spot the ones with obvious sauces. Grilled seafood is often a safe option, and here the manager speaks very well English. So you can explain the ingredients you cannot have.

Overall comment: Amazing service, wonderful food and cheap prices. As a Celiac, the grilled seafood was safe for me here and I felt that the staff understood my restrictions in ingredients. I was happy to find a local restaurant with gluten free options as those are very hard to come by.

Disclaimer: The above is based on the personal experience and opinion of a Celiac traveler. For eating places, you should still inquire about the gluten free options and ingredients as recipes, kitchen routines, staff and management may have changed. This post is not sponsored.
