Gluten Free in Los Angeles: Denny’s

Date
Aug, 24, 2019

This is no fine dining, but a great diner offering gluten free breakfast in Los Angeles (and across the US). With that said, in general many breakfast dishes are gluten free. However, Denny’s now have gluten free options marked on their menu (at least in Los Angeles).

Details of Establishment:

Name: Denny’s
Type:  Diner
Location: Across the US (I went to 5535 W Century Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90045, USA)
Tips: Open 24/7, so no worries about closing hours

Gluten free or not gluten free observations:

Item(s) ordered: Scrambled eggs, bacon and  hash brown
GF observation: The menu is allergen marked with “GF” where there are safe options.

Celiac safety: This is not a 100% gluten free establishment. Therefore, you need to be careful when it comes to cross contamination. Also note that this is a diner and not all establishments may have trained their staff on cross contamination. Inform the staff if you have Celiac disease.

Overall comment: A decent place to get some breakfast.  I chose to go safe with obvious gluten free options and also informed the waiter about my condition. Always open and a good gluten free option in Los Angeles late night and early morning when options are few.

Disclaimer: The above is based on the personal experience and opinion of a Celiac traveler. For eating places, you should still inquire about the gluten free options and ingredients as recipes, kitchen routines, staff and management may have changed. Only places marked “100% Celiac safe” are confirmed free from cross contamination. This post is not sponsored.
