Gluten Free in Rome: La Soffitta Renovatio

Located just a few blocks away from the Vatican, you can take a leisurely stroll over to this restaurant for a gluten free lunch. You will instantly be met by gluten free and Celiac friendly stickers, so you will know you have come to the right place.

Gluten free or not gluten free observations:

GF observation: The staff will ask you when you are seated if you are Celiac. You will then be informed that the whole menu can be made gluten free – meaning there are no restrictions for you. Some dishes, like pizzas, have a small extra charge for the gluten free version. Upon receiving your order, the gluten free dishes have a little fork in them for you to be sure it is your dish.

Celiac safety: This is not a 100% gluten free establishment. However, it should be noted that it has a sticker from the Celiac Association on the door and is listed on their website as a Celiac friendly establishment. They have received training and is monitored by the Italian Celiac Association.

Overall comment: It is a place that seems to have high quality food and is for that reason also very popular. The menu is good and you are in safe hands. Do note that the prices here are a little on the higher end.
