Gluten Free in Salerno: Arepa’s Town

Date
Apr, 10, 2019

This is a place you can get a cheap AND gluten free meal. In fact, it may be the cheapest gluten free meal you will find in this part of Salerno. For EUR 3-3.50 you can choose more or less any item on the menu consisting of traditional Venezuelan arepas.

Details of Establishment:

Name: Arepa’s Town
Type
:  Restaurant
Location: Via Mercanti, 139, 84121 Salerno SA, Italy
Tips: The place is tiny with only a few seats to eat in.

Gluten free or not gluten free observations:

Item(s) ordered: Most of the menu
GF observation: The menu is what you see on the walls, and every single item has “gluten free” marked if it is in fact gluten free. You will be happy to know that only 1-2 items are not gluten free (as of April 2019), the remaining 90% of the menu is.

Celiac safety: This is not a 100% gluten free establishment, so be vary of cross contamination risks. However, it should be noted that only a couple of dishes contain gluten (burrito) and they are prepared separately.

Overall comment: It does not have the best ambiance, but it does have good food that is safe and reasonably priced. Recommendable!

Disclaimer: The above is based on the personal experience and opinion of a Celiac traveler. For eating places, you should still inquire about the gluten free options and ingredients as recipes, kitchen routines, staff and management may have changed. Only places marked “100% Celiac safe” are confirmed free from cross contamination. This post is not sponsored.
