For being such a small place, the town of Amalfi has a lot of eating places. I only went to one when I visited, thus you may find many more places that have more and better gluten free options (but none that are 100% gluten free, though, except an ice cream shop). I enjoyed this restaurant due to the views and good wine, but I would not recommend it for a heavy lunch or dinner if you are Celiac.
Details of Establishment:
Name: Gran Caffè
Type: Restaurant
Location: Corso delle Repubbliche Marinare, 37/38, 84011 Amalfi, Itay
Tips: Great view on the terrace.
Gluten free or not gluten free observations:
Item(s) ordered: Tuna salad and melon with ham
GF observation: The menu is not allergen marked. You need to rely on the feedback from the staff. Not much on the menu to choose from as a Celiac, other than salad and starters.
Celiac safety: This is not a 100% gluten free establishment, thus you should always be careful in terms of cross contamination risks. This is a place that has paninis as majority of their menu. Make sure that the staff understands that you have Celiac disease.
Overall comment: It is a place with a lovely view. As a Celiac, I did not have enough to eat to feel content as the menu was not very gluten free. I would suggest this place if you simply want to have a drink and some snacks while enjoying the view.
