What to see while you are there: Guadix Cathedral and Barrio de Cuevas (also known as the cave house area)
As part of your trip to Granada or even a Spain road trip, Guadix is a natural destination. You will be mesmerized by the cave houses dug into the hill and mountainsides, and it is nothing like anything you have seen before. The city it self is rather small and you would be able to explore the sights in a matter of hours. It is nonetheless a unique experience in itself to have an overnight stay in a cave house, and I can highly recommend it.
Aside from the caves, Guadix has several of historical landmarks. When you visit, you should also try to visit the cathedral. It is spectacular both on the inside and on the outside.
